Cave Monster
The entrance to the Underworld was first going to be through the rings of a tree stump, this idea changed to a well, but now I think it should be a hole enclosed in moving tree roots.
The story is about a missing child that becomes trapped in a world that she cannot escape. After hiding from some of the horrifying creatures that dwindle in the darkness she must find refuge and learn to survive.
The child later encounters an entity that infests her mind and body, this parasitic entity comes with an unnerving super power that will surprisingly help her to survive as she grows into an adult in the underworld.
Another child character is in the making and these two characters will later encounter each other.
This world has very little breathable air and the helpless child soon collapses. But is soon rescued by an unnerving entity who physically manifests itself in the form of growing vines. These vines penetrate her chest and feed oxygen to her lungs, effectively saving her life.
